ABOUT THE OWNERS

The road to success is never easy, but through hard work and perseverance you will eventually achieve your dreams. It wasn’t easy for Marcello and Antonio in the early years. First Marcello came to America alone in 1979. After four long years without his family he was finally able to have them join him in 1982.

Marcello's Restaurant comes from long standing tradition and culture. It all began when Marcello Mandreucci was 16 years old. He came to America in hope of being successful in the food industry. Marcello worked under his uncle for 3 years, 12 hours a day, everyday. In 1982 Marcello's uncle helped him open the first Marcello's Restaurant in Bordentown, NJ. He was able to bring th rest of his family from Italy to America including his mother, and his brother, Antonio Mandreucci. the buisiness was very successful from the start. Mama Mandreucci was in the kitchen cooking everything from scratch. She worked very hard for the restaurant and for her family. At the end of the day she made sure that each employee had a delicious dinner before they went home. This Bordentown Marcello's is still operating under  the name Marcello"s today. It has become a fine dining restaurant with lines out the door.

The buisiness soon expanded and Marcello's Restaurants opened up in Wildwood, Mt. Ephram, Lawnside, and finally here in Hammonton. Marcello and Antonio saw this empty corner on Bellevue Ave. on a visit to Atlantic City. In 1998 they decided to open up the Hammonton store as a small pizza place. Busy from the start, Antonio and Marcello became very successful here in Hammonton. During that time the Mandreuccis started other pizzerias in Northern New Jersey. Antonio had fallen in love with a girl he met in Sicily on his yearly trip. This would be his future wife Maria. Antonio went to Carini in Sicily to get married and  decided to lease the premises  to another Italian family.

When he returned Antonio began working on a new project with Marcello called Pizza-Grill.com. he leased out several stores that became very successful. it was not unitl March of 2008 that Antonio heard that the Marcellos Leasers in Hammonton wanted to move on. Antonio was excited to get back into the restaurant environment now that he was settled down with his wife and family. He always appreciated having a pizzeria in Hammonton because of the high concentration of Italians and Sicilians that can truly enjoy his rustic Italian dishes. Antonio would like to give a special thanks to his customers in Hammonton and would like to ask you to please help him continue the history of Marcello's Restaurant.
